Dr. Calvaresi is a board-certified molecular pathologist leveraging genomics and precision medicine to improve human health. Her clinical experience includes over 4 years of practice at the Cleveland Clinic and training (clinical pathology and molecular genetic pathology) at ARUP Laboratories; her clinical expertise includes molecular oncology (including whole exome/transcriptome interpretation), molecular hematopathology, and test development. A Chicago native, Dr. Calvaresi completed her MD and PhD (biochemistry) degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Calvaresi’s medical leadership experience includes an appointment to the AMP Board of Directors as an early career representative (2024-2026), 5 years of service on the AMP Professional Relations Committee, 3 years of service as AMP representative on the FASEB Science Policy Committee (including an ongoing appointment on the FASEB generative artificial intelligence taskforce), and recent service as the NIST Genome in a Bottle Steering Committee Work Group (as AMP representative) and the Clinical Laboratory 2.0 Business/Payment Model Committee. She has extensive experience in Capitol Hill advocacy, public policy and regulation, and active interest in healthcare finance, laboratory stewardship, and redefining the laboratory business model.
