Molecular Pathologist Cleveland Clinic Cleveland, Ohio, United States
This innovation spotlight session will translate the 2025 Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB)’s Generative AI policy framework into the context of molecular diagnostics. Dr. Emilia Calvaresi, AMP’s representative to the FASEB Science Policy Committee and member of the FASEB Gen AI taskforce, will discuss how FASEB’s five thematic policy recommendations - 1) policy and regulation, 2) scientific integrity and intellectual property, 3) data privacy and security, 4) diversity and accessibility, and 5) workforce development, training and education - apply to laboratories, industry partners, and the molecular pathology workforce. Practical examples and case studies will illustrate how responsible and ethical use of generative AI can advance molecular diagnostics while maintaining scientific rigor and patient safety.
