    John Emmanuel Markantonis, DO, D(ABMM), is currently the interim division chief of clinical pathology and section head of microbiology at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, with an academic appointment of clinical assistant professor at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He completed his doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Touro University Nevada in Henderson, Nevada, followed by the completion of a transitional internship year at Northwell Health-Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY. Dr. Markantonis completed further subspecialty training in clinical pathology and medical microbiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
