After discovering a love for science in high school, Ali Murphy pursued her education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in both Genetics and Biochemistry. While working in the environmental testing field, she discovered Medical Laboratory Science and learned where her true passions lied. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for her MLS degree and then moved to Minneapolis to start a new career. Later, she obtained a Masters of Arts in Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University. Currently, Ali works for HealthPartners as a Laboratory Information Systems Technical Specialist; helping to bridge the gap between IT and lab operations. She also serves as a national director for her professional society, ASCLS and as a team secretary and coach for a local Special Olympics team. Through all her education, jobs, and professional involvements, Ali has always struggled with self-confidence. Upon learning about imposter syndrome, Ali realized she was a sufferer. Through self-exploration and strategic goal setting, Ali has achieved successes and loves helping others navigate their imposter syndrome.
