Dr. Marcin Cieslik is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, with a primary appointment in the Department of Pathology and a secondary appointment in Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics. In 2024, he was also appointed Director of Bioinformatics for the Division of Diagnostics Genetics and Genomics. Holding a PhD in Biophysics (Computational Biology) from the University of Virginia, Dr. Cieslik leads an analytical and translational cancer genomics laboratory dedicated to the discovery, understanding, and clinical translation of cancer genomics, creating novel computational tools to analyze genomic data from cancer patients and collaborating closely with clinicians to translate these insights. Dr. Cieslik is a leader in major national initiatives, notably as a project lead within the NIH/NCI Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC), focusing on Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Prostate Cancer, and Lung Cancer. The synergy of his research and clinical diagnostic roles facilitates the direct translation of his lab's innovations into state-of-the-art diagnostic assays.
