Hello! Matt Wolf, I am a Senior Developer in Clinical Microbiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. For the last 8 years I have developed infectious disease metagenomic assays, performing basic research and translating cutting edge molecular diagnostic assays to the clinical Microbiology lab. In addition to a direct-from-specimen16S bacterial identification assay, utilizing Next Generation Sequencing, I have also developed a DNA/RNA shogun metagenomics assay for CSF, and a cell-free DNA assay for infectious disease detection in plasma. I enjoy working with the variety of people both in and outside of the lab that enable these complex projects to become reality.
