Director
Korea Cancer Center Hospital, Republic of Korea
I, Jin Kyung Lee have been working as an attending physician at the department of Laboratory Medicine, Korea Cancer Center Hospital at the KIRAMS since 2005. I am currently the president of the KIRAMS which is under the umbrella of Ministry of Science and ICT in Korea.
I graduated from the Ewha Womans University college of medicine in 1992, and received a PhD degree from the Chungbuk University in 2002. During my residency, I began to take an interest in the field of molecular diagnositics and cytogenetics for cancer management.
As advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies enabled discovery of increasing number of germline and somatic variations, my research has expanded to an interaction between germline predisposition and accumulation of someatic variations and its effect to carcinogenesis.
Since I got involved in UNSCEAR activities since 2012, I have got an insight that second primary cancer is an important issue in cancer management.
Since then I have been involving in several research projects related to second primary cancers.
