Post Doctoral Research Fellow
UCLA
Taryn Jakub, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher in Computational Medicine at UCLA focused on translating next-generation sequencing into routine clinical diagnostics. Taryn leads development of the SwabSeq Modular Platform, a modular nested RT-PCR NGS-based assay designed for rapid adaptation to emerging pathogens in infectious disease diagnostics. Their work spans end-to-end assay development: primer design, LoD/analytical validation, lab automation, and CLIA-lab implementation. Broadly, their research centers on robust genomic diagnostics that can be deployed beyond academic labs to impact public health.
