Abhimannyu Rimal(Abhi) is a Genomic Development Specialist in the Division of Precision and Compulational Diagnostics at Penn Medicine. Abhi moved to US from Nepal in 2013, and completed a BS degree from the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in Biochemistry with minors in Molecular Biology and Psychology, and a PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology from the Thomas Jefferson University College of Life Sciences. Over the last 10 years, Abhi has developed skills in basic research and its application in the clinical setting for assay development. In these roles, he has completed many basic research projects studying protein kinase biology and recently ventured into the use of high throughput sequencing for clinical testing, more specifically in cancers. When not at work, Abhi loves to cook, everything soccer and trekking/hiking (just completed Mardi Himal Trekking ~14,000 ft).
