Francesco Mattia Mancuso is a bioinformatics and multiomics scientist specializing in (epi)genomics, proteomics, and computational biology, with nearly 20 years of experience in translational research and biotechnology. He started his career developing bioinformatics databases and tools to integrate transcriptomic and proteomic data and gained extensive experience in pipeline development, quantitative proteomics, and multiomics data analysis.
Francesco joined Universal Diagnostics as a Staff Bioinformatician, making significant contributions to liquid biopsy biomarker discovery. He later became Omics Team Lead and now serves as Scientific Integration & Innovation Lead in the CSO office. In this role, he drives strategic initiatives that integrate multiomics technologies to decode complex biological systems and accelerate innovation in cancer research. He has played a central role in building the company’s extensive biomarker and methodology IP portfolio and evaluates novel technical and computational solutions to provide a strategic and technical edge.
In addition, Francesco leads the company’s scientific publication strategy and represents Universal Diagnostics at international conferences, sharing advances in early cancer detection and liquid biopsy technologies. His work bridges cutting-edge research and practical applications, aiming to translate complex scientific discoveries into actionable diagnostic tools that improve patient outcomes.
With deep expertise in bioinformatics, proteomics, genomics, and data analytics, Francesco is passionate about leveraging innovation and multi-disciplinary approaches to advance precision oncology and support the development of next-generation diagnostic technologies.
