Dr. Meghan Starolis is a clinical laboratory director who specializes in molecular methods of infectious disease detection. She currently serves as Senior Science Director, Infectious Disease at Quest Diagnostics. In this role, she serves as section director for the molecular infectious disease department, as well as a key leader supporting R&D initiatives, developing strategy alongside business partners, and developing and maintaining best practices at all laboratories within Quest that perform molecular testing. She is board certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) as a High Complexity Lab Director (HCLD) in the subdiscipline of Molecular Diagnostics.
In addition to this role, Dr. Starolis is a Council Member of the PASCV and serves as a Education Committee Member. She previously served as Chairperson of the Clinical Practice Committee. She also serves on the Infectious Disease Subcommittee for AMP, and as Vice Chair of the Coding and Reimbursement Committee for ASM. She is adjunct faculty at George Mason University, her alma matter, and teaches Medical Microbiology. Dr. Starolis earned both her Masters and Ph.D. at George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia) in Microbiology and Infectious Disease.
