Dr. Amit Rawat is currently working as a Professor of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. His professional and research pursuits include inborn errors of immunity particularly antibody deficiencies and Type I interferonpathies. In addition, he is also actively involved in employing next-generation sequencing and other molecular assays for genetic diagnosis of patients with inborn errors of immunity. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. He has been awarded the BGRC Silver Jubilee Oration Award by the Indian Council of Medical Research and the V R Khanolkar Oration Award by the National Academcy of Medical Sciences for his research on Inborn errors of immunity. He is the President of Indian Society of Primary Immune Deficiency (ISPID) and the secretary of the Asia Pacific Society for Immunodeficiencies (ASPID). He has more than 300 publications in peer reviewed journals.
