Lucas grew up in Rochester, Minnesota USA and received a Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Minnesota Duluth. As his final semester in 2016, he participated in a study abroad program at Oxford University, UK where he studied molecular biology and biochemistry. He began working at Mayo Clinic’s Rochester campus in 2017 within Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. As a laboratory technologist he performed DNA extraction, testing, and analysis. In 2022 he moved to genetic test development and as a developer he designs and validates tests focused on hereditary diseases.
Lucas currently lives in Rochester, Minnesota USA with his wife and three cats.
