Postdoctoral fellow
MRC Holland, Netherlands
Dr. Gemma Montalban obtained her PhD in the field of hereditary cancer, where she specialized in splicing and functional assays to characterize genetic variants in BRCA1, BRCA2, and other homologous recombination (HR) genes. Her current work aims to bridge the gap between pre-clinical research and clinical implementation by developing molecular diagnostics tools based on MLPA technology. Currently based at MRC Holland (Amsterdam, Netherlands), she is working on developing MLPA and digitalMLPA assays for oncology applications to support more accurate and efficient genetic testing for cancer patients.
