Dr. Xinjie Xu received her Ph.D. degree in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. She then completed her fellowship training in clinical cytogenetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011 and a second fellowship training in clinical molecular genetics at Boston University in 2013. She is boarded in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics and Clinical Molecular Genetics and Genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
Dr. Xu joined the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 2019. She currently serves as a Consultant, Director of Karyotype and FISH laboratories, co-Director of Genomics Laboratory and has an academic ranking of Associate Professor. Her main focuses at Mayo are to digitize cytogenetic tests and implement artificial intelligence to automate the practice.
Outside of Mayo Clinic, Dr. Xu served as the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Cancer Genomics Consortium. She also co-chaired the ClinGen Somatic Hematologic Cancer Taskforce and FLT3 Somatic Cancer Variant Curation Expert Panel.
