Associate Director of Bioinformatics
Cleveland Clinic
Dr. Mark Chen is affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic, where he works in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department, specializing at the intersection of bioinformatics, molecular diagnostics, and cancer biology.
Dr. Chen’s research utilizes advanced molecular and computational techniques to address fundamental biological questions, including influential studies on the genomics and evolution of protein phosphatases, and the molecular mechanisms that control CD8+ T cell differentiation.
His current research heavily emphasizes the application of precision medicine, notably through the development of DNA methylation-based classification models for the advanced diagnosis and prognosis of diseases, including central nervous system tumors—a key area in molecular pathology. Dr. Chen looks forward to discussing his latest research and collaborating with the AMP community on advancing diagnostic standards.
