Dr. Xiaomin Zhao is an accomplished leader with over a decade of experience in developing NGS-based cancer detection assays and establishing CAP/CLIA-accredited clinical laboratories. She currently serves as the Technical Supervisor of Clinical Testing at Droplet Biosciences, where she leads the development and implementation of a CAP/CLIA-accredited laboratory supporting surgical drain fluid–based NGS clinical testing.
Before joining Droplet Biosciences, Dr. Zhao held leadership roles at Exact Sciences, where she directed the development, validation, and technology transfer of liquid biopsy–based oncology assays across multiple clinical sites for both LDT and IVD applications.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Zhao established and managed a CAP/CLIA-certified NGS laboratory at WuXi NextCode Genomics, overseeing clinical validation and commercialization of advanced oncology diagnostics. She also contributed to Foundation Medicine as an Application Scientist, supporting NGS-based companion diagnostic assays in a high-throughput clinical operations environment.
Dr. Zhao is recognized for her leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration in advancing precision oncology and high-quality clinical testing operations.
