Dr. Natasha Anwar is a Clinical Scientist and Consultant Molecular Pathologist with over 18 years of experience in molecular diagnostics and genomics in Pakistan. She graduated from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine (London) with a PhD, where her research focused on host–pathogen interactions and molecular mechanisms of disease.
She currently leads the Molecular Pathology Laboratory at the Aga Khan University Outreach in Lahore, where she has played a pivotal role in establishing advanced testing facilities, expanding molecular services, and leading quality assurance programs, including CAP audits and Punjab Healthcare Commission licensing across a large service network in Pakistan.
As General Secretary of the Association of Molecular Pathology Pakistan (AMPP), Dr. Anwar actively promotes national capacity building through training, conferences, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen molecular diagnostic practices. Her professional interests span infectious diseases, oncology, rare disorders, and genomic medicine, alongside a deep engagement with genome ethics, examining the social, cultural, and ethical dimensions of genomic research and its application in clinical care.
Dr. Anwar remains committed to advancing equitable access to molecular and genomic testing while fostering a culture of ethical reflection, quality, and innovation in laboratory medicine.
