Dr. Myungshin Kim is a renowned leader in laboratory medicine and genomics, currently serving as Professor and Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at The Catholic University of Korea. She is also the Director of the Catholic Genetic Laboratory Center at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, where she oversees advanced molecular diagnostic services, including next-generation sequencing (NGS) for the detection and monitoring of hematologic malignancies.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Dr. Kim has significantly contributed to the advancement of precision medicine, particularly in minimal residual disease (MRD) detection and immunoglobulin (Ig) clonality assays. She collaborates closely with clinicians to develop molecular diagnostic tools that improve patient care in both hereditary diseases and cancers. Dr. Kim is a Board-certified Laboratory Hematologist and an active member of several professional societies, including the Korean Society of Laboratory Medicine and the Korean Society of Hematology.
She holds both an MD and PhD in Laboratory Hematology from The Catholic University of Korea and has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Academic Award from the Korean Society of Laboratory Medicine. Her research continues to drive innovation in molecular diagnostics, shaping the future of personalized medicine in Korea and beyond.
