Yijiang Chen, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher under mentorship of professor Ruijiang Li in Radiation Oncology at Stanford University, developing multimodal foundation models that fuse digital pathology, clinical data, and spatial multi omics to enable precision oncology. His research interests include digital pathology AI, spatial biology, and multimodal AI for interpretable biomarker discovery, risk stratification, and therapy response prediction.
Dr. Chen earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine under mentorship Dr. Anant Madabhushi and received pre doctoral fellowship from American Society of Nephrology.
Receiving the honor of Outstanding BME Student in Big Data Analytics & Health Informatics, Dr.Chen’s work at Case Western Reserve University focused on development of AI solutions in computational pathology for advancement of precision medicine in nephrology and uncovering digital pathology–based interpretable biomarkers for glomerular diseases.
He has contributed to large collaborative initiatives including the NEPTUNE and Kidney Precision Medicine Project consortia and has delivered workshops on quantitative quality control and reproducibility in digital pathology.
