    Deepu Alex, MD PhD is the Director of Medical Affairs and Molecular Pathology Lead at Labcorp, Clinical Lab Services (CLS). He is an Oncologic Surgical Pathologist, Cytopathologist and Molecular Genetics Pathologist (MGP) with board certifications in MGP and Cytopathology from the American Board of Pathology. He received his medical degree from St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India and his doctoral degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. He completed his residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Medstar-Georgetown University Hospital, Washington D.C and completed fellowship training in Oncologic Surgical Pathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology and Cytopathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York. He is actively involved in various professional societies in Pathology. His areas of research interest include drug discovery, molecular testing of cytology specimens, molecular profiling of lung cancers and development of advanced molecular techniques for clinical testing.
