Dr. Alexander Guzzetta is a Molecular Genetic Pathology fellow at the University of Chicago. He completed his Anatomic Pathology residency at the same institution, with subspecialty training in cardiothoracic pathology. His doctoral work focused on functional genomics approaches to uncover mechanisms of early embryonic development and patterning. Dr. Guzzetta’s current research applies genomic technologies to advance understanding of tumor biology and improve clinical diagnostics. His projects include improving methods to sequence century-old archived formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues and applying single-cell and spatial genomics to study thoracic malignancies, including non-small cell carcinoma and mesothelioma.
