Dr. Konnick is a board-certified anatomic, clinical, and molecular pathologist at the University of Washington (UW) Medical Center and the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, a UW Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology, Associate Director of UW Medicine’s Genetics and Solid Tumor Lab, and former Associate Clinical Laboratory Director of the Seattle Flu Alliance. Dr. Konnick is responsible for the design, implementation, and clinical evaluation of advanced clinical laboratory methods across a wide variety of diseases, with a focus on precision medicine for oncology. Dr. Konnick is involved in many professional societies and is currently Chair of the Association for Molecular Pathology’s Professional Relations Committee, Chair of the College of American Pathologists’ Genomic Medicine Committee, and President of the Washington State Society of Pathologists. He has been involved in laboratory regulatory policy analyses and discussions for over 10 years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, the various iterations of VALID, and multiple initiatives undertaken by the FDA since 2014.
