    Shelby Melton, MD is Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service at the VA North Texas Health Care System and a Clinical Professor of Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A graduate of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, he trained in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Emory University before completing fellowships in Molecular Genetic Pathology and Gastrointestinal Pathology at UT Southwestern.

    Within AMP, Dr. Melton has 17 years of volunteer service on the Professional Relations, Nominating, Awards, & Finance Committees. He was a member of the AMP Board of Directors as Chair of the Membership Affairs Committee. He’s played integral roles in launching new AMP initiatives like the Patient Engagement Working Group and Mentorship Task Force.

    Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing drums, traveling, skiing, and spending time with his wife and children.
