Dr. Fisch is an Assistant Pathologist in Head and Neck Pathology, Endocrine Pathology, and Molecular Genetic Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine Medical Scientist Training Program, and subsequently completed the anatomic pathology residency at MGH, the molecular genetic pathology fellowship at HMS and Brigham and Women's Hospital, and the head and neck/endocrine pathology fellowship at MGH and Mass Eye and Ear. Dr. Fisch's research focuses on the tumor biology of head and neck and endocrine neoplasia and innovative methods in the molecular lab, including the first cohort of FGFR-driven thyroid carcinomas and testing for virally driven malignancies. He has presented at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP), has given invited lectures, and co-authored multiple book chapters spanning head and neck, thyroid, and molecular pathology. He has a keen interest in mentorship and has been awarded the Anatomic Pathology Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award for MGH.
