Eitan obtained his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland and then worked as a software engineer before obtaining a PhD in human genetics from Johns Hopkins University and doing a post-doctoral fellowship in computational biosciences at the University of Colorado. Subsequently he obtained his MD in the research track from the University of Colorado followed by residency in clinical pathology (informatics track) from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed a molecular genetic pathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and joined the Center for Personalized Diagnostics in September 2023. Eitan's past research efforts include work on Ig and TCR clone detection using NGS and digital whole slide image analysis using different types of neural networks. He has experience with genomic analytics, including large data handling, variant and CNV pipeline development, and result interpretation as well as with EPIC reporting and database design.
Eitan's research interests are in the areas of bioinformatics, molecular pathology, next-generation sequencing, AI, software development, digital pathology, and big data.
