Peter H. O’Donnell, MD, is a translational researcher with advanced training in clinical pharmacology and a practicing medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies.
His research group focuses on understanding the adoption of pharmacogenomic information at the point-of-care to inform prescribing. Dr. O’Donnell is Chair of the Pharmacogenomics and Population Pharmacology Committee of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology cooperative group, where he oversees a large portfolio of pharmacogenomic and clinical pharmacology studies. He is a past Chair of the Scientific Program Committee for the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (ASCPT).
At the University of Chicago, Dr. O’Donnell is Chair of the Committee on Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics, and Director of the institutional NIH T32 fellowship training program in Clinical Pharmacology. He is Deputy Director of the University of Chicago Center for Personalized Therapeutics. He is Chief of Medical Staff, University of Chicago Pharmacogenomics Laboratory (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments-certified).
