Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples are invaluable resources aiding the fields of cancer genomics, pathological diagnosis, biomarker discovery, immunotherapy research and basic research. However, nucleic acids in FFPE samples are often fragmented and prone to chemical modifications making them challenging to use. This talk will highlight Omega Bio-tek’s solution for extracting both DNA and RNA from the same FFPE sample and evaluates its performance in terms of yield, quality, and amplification sensitivity. Whole exome (DNA) and RNA-seq (RNA) sequencing data for FFPE samples with their matching fresh-frozen samples completes the presentation to provide a holistic analysis of Omega Bio-tek's solution.
